I have been wandering around the house, blogging, watching crap on tv and talking to myself for over two hours now!!!!!!!!


Just thought i would share...................

The A - Z of my week

A is for Art. My best memory lately is of our wonderful Arty farty mary Art group with Arty farty Anchell last weekend..... loved it.

B is for Band aids, of which i have put on copious amounts on copious kids scrapes, and Bell time which I wait for of an afternoon, and the 8.30 Bell, which i hope i hear of a morning after i arrive at work, because that means i am not late. And a Book called Becoming Conscious that I am proof reading again, almost done.

C is for coffee, that I haven't been able to share with anyone - just a cup or two guzzled in the morning between Cracking the whip at everyone to get ready so we can get out the door on time.

D is for Don't know what to put for D. Amazing really, being such a common letter.

E is for Egan, who has his first ever game of soccer in the morning, he is certainly an Ecstatic little boy.

F is for the F word that I am not allowed to say when i am working at school. ( I have to admit to saying it under my breath every now and again, please don't tell anyone!!)

G is for Googie Eggs of the chocolate variety that I will be spending a fortune on this weekend for the upcoming other stolen pagan festival. And Glycerin which i am glad I smeared all on the freezer surfaces last time i defrosted it, huge sheets of ice just fell off with just one little tap.

H is for Hot - which i wish would bloody well p%$s off. I am well and truly ready for some lovely frosty weather. Bring it on. (I know you are with me on this one Deb)

I is for Identity. Mine in particular. Working full time makes me lose mine. I don't know who i am. For that matter, after a conversation i had with a beautiful friend this afternoon, where we lamented how we are not the people we were before the kids were born, I am not sure i truly like the person i have become. I think I am a grumpy old hag. I don't recognise myself anymore.... Sad really.........

J is for Jen. That's who i am - Jen the grumpy old hag. plurgh....

K is for Kisses and hugs - my aforementioned soccer boy found his long lost teddy 'bluey' today and fell into his bed Kissing and hugging him whilst proclaiming 'Bluey, I missed you. This is the first time I have seen you in 2007" awwww cute.

L is for Lists, of which i have many, for Easter and birthdays and housework, all that need to be done with nothing forgotten. My List is my best friend. Sorry Cindy....

M is for Money - which is why i am slaving over a hot photocopier and computer and telephone at school and Mess, which is my house at the Moment. Everywhere I look - Mess.

N is for Notes - schools generate a lot of Notes. I have typed several different varieties this week - what fun. and for Nights - they aren't long enough. Teenagers impinge on my 'me' time at nights and i am staying up later and later to escape them. That is the biggest thing i hate about working. There is no time 'just for me'. when i am home there is a house full. .... oh well, one day i will probably be complaining that they never come and visit me!! Hmmm, maybe because I just typed this but - it is Nine o clock and everyone is in bed!!!!!!!!! wow - that never happens. YAY

O is for Over it. Everything really.....

P is for Photocopying. Lots of it. and how i was so tired today i was brainless and couldn't understand the Photocopying instructions left by the teachers, then couldn't remember how to work the Photocopier. Pfffttt - not good, show me my bed. (sorry Kristie, i shouldn't complain about tired - you wear the crown of tired right now)

Q is for Questions that i hope i can answer at the Trivia night i am going to tomorrow night. I love Trivia nights. and Queensland, which my bestie Kaz is travelling towards as I type.

R is for Red - which is for Red babies, of which i was looking at absolutely adorable, ethereal photographs of earlier and new websites, which list me as an 'Other', that sounds like something scary out of a horror movie - just kidding, cool site Renata!!

S is for Soccer - which will get me up at some ungodly hour in the morning - Saturday morning is my morning for lounging around in my jarmies normally, after 5 mornings in a row whip cracking, i can take it easy. NO LONGER!!! Ahhhhh Soccer - how did i get talked into this I will never know. And the child's father works most Saturday mornings, so i will have to cope with the Soccer thing alone...... Hmmmmmmmmmm

T is for Time - very little of mine is actually mine. It normally belongs to every one else. Work, Kids, Husband, House, Cat, Mother, blah blah blah. Time to Take back my Time i Think!!!! and Tired, which Kristies blog is reminding me of with her posts - no one knows Tiredness like a new mother.

U is for Unwinding - which i am trying to do. Until Monday.

V is for Vacation - one more week and it will be Vacation time. Hmmm - double edged sword this one. I will have finished my almost 3 weeks straight, but the kids will be home from school. Vacation. Yes. Although in the second week of the holidays, i am taking the kids on a Vacation for 4 days 3 nights at aVoca beach in a cabin. Very Very good - cant wait for that one.

W is for Working, this three Weeks Work has allowed us to afford the aforementioned Vacation.

X is for eXactly 26 sleeps til the kids start Term 2 and i get a day to myself.

Y is for You - thank You for reading this far.... hopefully it hasn't put you to.......zzzzzzz

EARTH HOUR - 7.30pm to 8.30pm - Saturday March 31, 2007

Earth Hour is a fabulous opportunity for you and your family to do something about climate change. On one night, in one hour, more will be done, more will be demonstrated, and more will be learned than through a hundred 'talk-fests'. And you can help make it happen.

What is Earth Hour?It sounds simple, but it is very, very dramatic.

At 7.30pm on March 31st 2007, we will be encouraging companies, government departments, individuals and families to turn off their lights for just one hour. If we meet our objectives during the first Earth Hour, the savings in green house gas emissions will be the equivalent of taking75,000 medium sized cars off the road for one whole year! Now that's something worth doing.

Why?The facts are alarmingly clear:

* The climate is changing! The 10 hottest years on record have occurred since 1990. In fact 2005 was the hottest year since record keeping began.
* More than 95% of the Great Barrier Reef will have been destroyed by 2050 if carbon dioxide emissions aren't reduced. (WWF-International)
* One million species worldwide are facing extinction due to climate change.

But not everybody listens to the facts. Earth Hour is your opportunity to demonstrate how a simple change in our way of life could change, and help save, our planet.

The goals of Earth Hour:Households :

Most of us use unnecessary electricity. Appliances on standby, old style light bulbs, lights left on when we're not using them. Earth Hour will help us all to realise just how simply we can make a dramatic impact upon global warming (and our own power bills).

We will see it in action.

Companies : We want companies to be involved. If every company turned off its lights when the buildings weren't in use, and combined it with energy saving technology, we would save between 2 and 4 million tonnes of greenhouse gasses every year. Earth Hour will show companies just how easy that is.

To make it an annual event :

Out of the 8,766 hours in a year, let's give one back to the earth.

What you can do:

Sign up to Earth Hour and Pledge to turn off your lights on March 31st from 7.30pm to 8.30pm by logging onto

You will receive all the information you need to make Earth Hour a great success (and to cut your own energy bills in the long term).
Pledging is free.

Get off standby : Turn off all the electronic equipment and appliances in your home that are not being used or are on standby. Computers, televisions, stereo equipment, phone chargers, DVD or video equipment.

Tell a friend : Spread the word about earth Hour by involving your friends, family and workmates. Get them to pledge at and most importantly, turn off the lights at 7.30pm Saturday 31 March 2007.

Spread the word - Once you have signed up for Earth Hour tell a friend; spread the word at work; tell your boss; mention it at school, at your local sports club or society group, you can even run it past your neighbours!

Make it an event. Get your family and friends to switch off their lights as well; Take some binoculars and look at the stars; sit and talk by candlelight; Explore your backyard by torchlight; Have fun with sparklers; or just do something non-electric as a family; Have a picnic-at-dusk; pretend you are camping; or have a candlelight dinner.

Hmm - trying madly to finish proof reading this book (in my spare time) and sat down to check blogs and emails. This little beauty was within my Rob Breezney's Astrology Newsletter. I think it is very clever. You just insert your name where the lines are....

I have been working every day (good but not good) and trying to get everything done.

Oh i am sorry... I obviously suck at blogging.....

My middle child has had the marathon birthday, sleepover with friends yesterday afternoon til today after lunch, then the whole fandamily over for tea this evening, matter of fact, most of them are still here, watching the footy, while the kids are playing PlayStation.

It has been a pretty big weekend so far, in the last 24 hours i have ...

  • cooked a baked dinner for 16
  • installed etc a wireless router to connect my two girls' computers to the net via mine
  • sung along to some lovely 70's songs on sing star on PlayStation 2
  • nearly melted my lighter lighting 41 sparklers
  • joined a footy tipping competition
  • read and commented on lots of blogs
  • bought my son a new bed
  • made a trifle
  • wrapped and given 12th birthday gifts (Happy Birthday Kira)
  • not choked someone elses kid
  • thought about how i am influencing my life unconsciously
  • looked at baby ruby photos
  • looked at my own 'cousin it' photo from last week's lunch at the cottage
  • been to a clothes party and not bought anything but booked a party
  • shopped at least 3 times
  • washed 4 loads of washing
  • tidied up
  • tidied up again (damn maid, am going to let her go, she does jack nelly around here)
  • argued with various children, some not even mine
  • sweltered in disgustingly high humidity
  • splashed melted butter all down the front of my new favourite top (making cheese sauce for the cauli and broccoli)
  • marveled at the new pretty blue led lights on the front of my new router
  • sat down to blog..... finally (sorry 'chell, i am truly a disappointment)

will try to be a bit more organised with my time in future...

yay - the bbq has been called off!!! yay

has been a very full day - my feet are killing me

glad i dont have to be a charming hostess tonight

i love my friends but am so glad that it got called off,

aaaahhhhh relax................................


Hmmm - i have been very slack lately. My life doesnt seem to be very interesting at the moment (if ever). I promise i will get on later after .........

  • take kids #2 & #3 to the Maryland Community Centre for the plaster painting thing that is on today, something about 'sustainable communities'.

  • take kid #1 to work at Macca's

  • pick kid #1 up from work at Macca's

  • take kid #1 and bestie to Charlie Square, to meet her friends for a spot of shopping - hoping not to get a call from centre management that they are being feral.... hmmm...

  • as they are only there for 2 hours or so, think i might stay and shop for kid #2's birthday (this friday), might even sit down and enjoy a latte

  • find some time to wash clothes

  • help paint kid #3's bedroom - hm, better get onto choosing the paint colour for the feature wall..... too hard - undercoat and paint the other three walls.

  • cook potato bake for bbq this evening with friends

  • assemble salad for same bbq

  • try to tidy this bomb of a house - not looking good on this one

  • i think that is it

phew - nothing like the weekend to relax and recharge eh...

oh well, there is always tomorrow......

A new blog

Hi all,

I have created a new blog called What's for dinner?? - i got the inspiration to make the blog while looking for something to do, and after a friend sent me a recipe for Butter Chicken Pizza - which sounds delish!!

This is an idea that has been rolling around in my head for a while now - and I have wanted to try to set up a blog that has multiple contributors - please go along, and join - and Anchell wants to know what is for dinner tomorrow night, so get cracking with some yummy healthy recipes.

Well, tis Thursday....

Am blogging again, raving on with rubbish, cause i am scared Anchell will growl at me again. lol, kidding, am not really scared of her.... just a little bit... lol

am over the moon about baby Ruby Jane... It is such a boost to hear about the safe arrival of a baby, it truly warms the heart.

Plus I dont think there has ever been a child born in the history of the world that has had so many Aunty Mary's. Maybe we should give the Guinness Book of World Records a call....

No such thing as too much love.

I have no news...

Life is just going on.

I am going to the fruit and vege market tomorrow morning with a friend. First time i have been for weeks. I have SO missed it. I always feel really resentful paying the supermarket prices after being there last year.

My kids are ecstatic. They are looking forward to the strawberries!!

I will do my best to oblige.
